This RP is set up slightly differently than most. To clarify how it works:
The story begins 8 months after the series finale of Smallville. Clark has stepped out of the shadows and is acting publicly as Superman, but he's still a relatively new superhero to the citizens of Metropolis. At the beginning of each new "day" all characters will start off at "home" unless the player indicates or has indicated otherwise. (For example, Clark will always start off at the apartment he shares with Lois, unless either 1) the person playing Clark establishes that Superman is off patrolling Metropolis, for example, at the "start" of the day; or 2) the person playing Clark ended the previous day's post with an indication that Clark would be staying elsewhere for the night, such as the Kent Farm.)
The admins will announce at least 72 hours in advance of ending a "day" so that players have a chance to finish their current threads. If a player expects to go on vacation or be away from the computer for longer than 72 hours, it is highly advised that you move your characters back "home" for that period and let your fellow players know that you will not be available, so that the threads don't stall in your absence. You are expected to post for your character at least once a week, unless you have notified the admins otherwise.
The admins much prefer to let players move their own characters, and we really do NOT want to god-mod. However, on occasion, it may be necessary for us to move your character for you. If you haven't posted in a week or more, or if we need to finish the "day" and your character has been left hanging in a scene, we reserve the right to move your character to "home base." We will ALWAYS move your characters to their "home" except in exceedingly rare instances where we are unable to do so. We may "god-mod" only to the extent necessary to move your character. (For example, if the Green Arrow and Hawkman are in the middle of an argument and the "day" ends, we may post that both sides decided to call it quits for the evening and head home. You can pick up the argument the next day.)
If your character is headed to an area where other characters are already playing, as long as your characters would be in the same room you MUST join the ongoing thread, in order to avoid confusion. If you are headed to the same location but a different area within that location - say, the Daily Planet roof instead of the newsroom, where other members are currently RPing - you may start a new thread.
When you have your characters join an ongoing thread, you should "modify" the thread to add your comments. Do not change or delete another player's comments; after you have contributed, they will go in and modify their post in order to respond to your additions.
When your character leaves a thread, it is your responsibility to indicate as much at the bottom of the thread. The proper format would be as follows:
To follow _______'s story, go to <<thread link>>.
When the last player leaves the thread or the scene "ends", that player should lock the post to prevent future changes. If you believe a thread has been locked in error, please notify an admin so that we may decide whether to unlock the thread or whether a new thread should be started.
If you have any questions about the structure of the RPG, please contact Jade or Sana, and we will do what we can to assist you. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the game!
