GENERAL OVERVIEW AND PERSONALITY
- Lucius is smart, level-headed, and creative. No matter how strange Bruce's request, Lucius can usually find something to fit the bill.
- He is an incredible businessman, with something of a "Midas Touch" when it comes to such matters.
- Lucius is extremely ethical, unwilling to cross lines Bruce barely recognizes exist. Even more than Alfred, he tries to keep Bruce on the moral straight-and-narrow path.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
- Lucius Fox is friends with Bruce, but they are not so close that Bruce is aware of any particular interest. Lucious is an avid reader, however.
KNOWN POWERS
Lucius Fox is human and, as such, has no superpowers. However, he has the following:
- Businessman: Lucius is unparalleled in the world of business and finance. He commands the respect and attention of those under his charge and is largely responsible from rescuing Wayne Enterprises from ruin and forging it into the multinational corporate giant that it is today.
- Intelligence: Lucius figured out that Bruce Wayne was secretly Batman on his own, though he was careful to retain plausible deniability.
- Loyal: Lucius was Thomas Wayne's friend and became fast friends with Bruce in his own right. He is protective towards the younger man, though he recognizes he doesn't have to threaten to protect Bruce's secret. The Bat will do it for him. "Let me get this straight. You think that your client - one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world - is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands; and your plan, is to blackmail this person? Good luck." 'Nuff said.
WEAKNESSES
Lucius Fox is human and doesn't have an extraordinary weakness, per se. He does have the following:
- Rigid: Lucius has a strict sense of morality that can be very black-and-white. At times, this is a benefit because it stops Bruce from crossing a line. However, it can also result in Lucius being resistant to let Bruce do what needs to be done.
HISTORY AND BIOGRAPHY
Lucius Fox was head of the “Applied Sciences” department at Wayne Enterprises when Bruce returned from the grave. In practical terms, he dealt with all kinds of stuff that never actually got produced – being too expensive, too impractical, or just too weird to be commercially viable. Of course, many of these prototypes just happened to be very useful for a would-be costumed crime-fighter.
It was a dead-end job, one he received as punishment for opposing the wrong people. Lucius was demoted from the board of Wayne Enterprises after butting heads with William Earle, the CEO who took over the running of the company during Bruce’s long disappearance overseas. Nevertheless, while was stuck down in the basement doing busy-work, he’s nobody’s fool. In particular, he had a pretty good idea of what Bruce was doing with the equipment he borrowed. Regarding Wayne's identity as Batman, he initially said, "If you don't want to tell me exactly what you're doing, when I'm asked, I don't have to lie. But don't think of me as an idiot."
After proving a good ally and loyal friend, Bruce made Fox the CEO of Wayne Enterprises.
Nowadays, Fox actively participates in a support capacity as Wayne's armorer, providing him with additional equipment such as the Batpod and a new Batsuit designed for more efficient mobility. In addition, Fox participates in his employer's vigilante activities both in the Batcave and in the field as his technical assistant and reconnaissance expert, using his professional duties as cover. However, Lucius is not comfortable with the ethical line Batman occasionally toes and is instrumental in helping Bruce stay on the right side of it.
